History of Ag Plus

Ag Plus History & Timeline

A Rich History

At Ag Plus Inc., our story begins with the shared vision and dedication of two respected organizations—Allen County Cooperative Association and Farmers Elevator Company of South Whitley—that came together in July 2001 to form a stronger, united cooperative. With roots dating back to 1930 and 1912, respectively, both organizations had a long-standing commitment to serving the agricultural communities of Allen County and Whitley County.

Before the merger, Allen County Cooperative Association operated six locations, and Farmers Elevator Company had two—each contributing to the growth and prosperity of the local farming community. Despite their differences in size, both cooperatives shared a common goal: to offer quality products and services that supported the hardworking farmers in our area.

The merger of these two organizations into Ag Plus was a natural and harmonious transition, made even easier by their shared values and similar services. This partnership has allowed us to improve efficiency and better serve our patrons, strengthening our ability to provide the resources and support that our employees and local communities rely on.

Today, Ag Plus Inc. stands as a testament to the enduring strength of collaboration and community. We are grateful for the long-standing relationships we have built with our patrons and employees. With eleven locations across Northeastern Indiana and Northwest Ohio, we continue to carry forward the legacy of service, care, and commitment that began over a century ago.
