Agronomy Sales Specialist

Work Location:  Columbia City, IN (Raber Ag Facility) and Woodburn, IN (Woodburn Agronomy)

Job Type: Full-Time; 1 st Shift


Job Summary: Responsible for fertilizer and chemical sales during the season including
making accurate price and quantity quotes with correct terms. Make regular sales calls
to customers promoting the products the company sells. Assist location with application
work, tendering, and soil testing when needed. Perform additional tasks that may be
required.


Education and/or Experience Required: Bachelors degree (B. S.) from four-year
college or university in an Ag related field; or 10 years or more of related experience
and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Custom Applicator

Work Location: Columbia City, IN (Raber Ag Facility) -OR- South Whitley, IN -OR-
Woodburn, Indiana (Woodburn Agronomy),  -OR- Fort Wayne (Maples Rd.)

Job Type: Full-Time; 1 st Shift


Job Summary: Performs custom application for the assigned locations by performing
the following duties personally or with the support of other plant personnel.

  • Responsible for proper application and placement of chemical and fertilizer.
  • Responsible for upkeep and repairs of all vehicles and equipment.
  • Must know, understand, and comply with all safety and governmental regulations.
  • Maintain and service all Agronomy equipment.
  • Basic knowledge of all chemicals and their abilities of control.
  • Assist all other departments in their busy seasons.
  • Assist on other projects in the shop.
  • Must possess basic computer skills.
  • Provide positive customer service & employee relations.
  • Mandatory overtime during seasonal operation.



Education and/or Experience Required: Custom applicator license or ability to get an Ag
CDL. Must have a clean driving record; no moving violations over the last 2 years.

Energy Transport Driver

Work Location: New Haven, IN

Job Type: Full-Time; 1 st Shift


Job Summary: Deliver Liquid Petroleum and/or Propane to bulk plant locations and/or
customers.

  • Local/regional deliverty routes
  • Responsible for timely delivery of products to assigned locations.
  • Maintain the truckin good working order.
  • Drive in a safe manner.
  • No overnights required.
  • Mandatory overtime during seasonal operations.
  • Perform additional tasks that may be required.


Education and/or Experience Required: Valid CDL Class A or B with Tanker & Hazmat
endorsement (or ability to get endorsement).

Grain Operations Attendant

Work Location: Woodburn, IN -OR- Monroeville, IN


Job Type: Full-Time; 1 st Shift

Job Summary: Assists in grain handling and plant maintenance at the assigned location.
Also performs functions that may include maintenance of equipment, plant and rolling
stock. Performs required preventative maintenance and have all preventative
maintenance reports turned in on time. Cleans up grain spills, dumping and receiving of
producer's grain. Perform additional tests that may be required.

Education and/or Experience Required: Prior experience in grain or agronomy is
preferred.

Assistant Location Manager/ Ag Sales Trainee

Work Location: Woodburn, IN (Woodburn Ag Facility)


Job Type: Full Time; 1 st Shift


Job Summary: Assist the location manager in customer service, sales, distribution, and
marketing operations for the agronomy location in a manner that will optimize Ag Plus’s
market share and savings, improve Ag Plus’s efficiency, help achieve Ag Plus’s mission
and goals, and result in outstanding customer service.

Education and/or Experience Required: Bachelors degree (B. S.) from four-year college
or university; or 5-10 years or more related experience and/or education; or equivalent
combination of education and experience. Valid Indiana Driver’ License with the ability
to get an Ag CDL.

Tender Truck Operator

Work Location: Columbia City, IN (Raber Ag Facility)


Job Type: Full-Time; 1 st Shift


Job Summary: Responsible for driving a tender truck and delivering chemical and
fertilizer supplies to the spray and spreader operators in the field. Load chemical and
fertilizer products in the tender truck and/or customer vehicles. Perform maintenance on
tender trucks and on equipment in the chemical and fertilizer facility. Responsible for
keeping the plant company equipment/vehicle clean. Serve as back up drivers to the
Custom Applicator.


Education and/or Experience Required: CDL Class A, prior experience in grain or
agronomy is preferred.


Supervisory Responsibilities: No supervisory responsibilities.


Controller

Location: South Whitley, IN
Reports to:  CFO & CEO
Job type: Full-Time


Summary:  Assists in the planning, organizing, directing, and controlling the accounting and control function of Ag Plus and Synergy Feeds.

 


Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Supports Ag Plus’s stated Vision, Mission, and Business Values.
  • Projects a positive attitude to customers and employees at all times.
  • Provides outstanding and courteous customer service.
  • Read and follow company employee policies.
  • Assists in overseeing all accounting systems software and Information Technologies (IT) for operations, accuracy, and updates.
  • Review and balance company accounts to ensure they are in balance.
  • Assists in preparing the monthly income statement, balance sheet, and budget comparison for the CFO, CEO, and the Board of Directors.
  • Plan and oversee the assigned internal controls implemented upon the Controller's approval.
  • Backup for the bi-weekly payroll and HR duties.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual tax forms.
  • Assists in assigned grain accounting duties.
  • Ensures the smooth flow of information to management. 
  • Assist in all company audits.
  • Serves as a backup in the monitoring of the daily CoBank activity and performs the daily functions if needed.
  • Review company policies regarding accounting, cash flow, computer, software, and currency security for effectiveness and recommend improvements to the CFO.
  • Accept additional responsibilities and duties as directed by the CEO and CFO.

Education and/or Experience:  Bachelor's degree (B. S.) from a four-year College or university with a major in accounting or business. CPA certification is not required, but it would be very helpful. Experience in auditing/accounting in a cooperative would be very helpful. 

 


Work Environment: The work environment, at times, can be very hectic. The candidate must be able to deal with deadlines, including working additional hours as needed to meet Company deadlines.  The noise level in the workplace is usually moderate.


Accounting Assistant

Work Location:  South Whitley, IN

Job Type: Full-Time, 1st Shift

Summary: Computes, classifies, records, and verifies numerical data to maintain accounting records by performing the following duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Supports Ag Plus’s stated Vision, Mission, and Business Values.
  • Projects a positive attitude to customers and employees at all times.
  • Provides outstanding and courteous customer service.
  • Assists employees and customers by answering questions related to accounts receivable and related procedures.
  • Compiles and sorts documents, such as invoices and customer payments (checks/ACH), substantiating business transactions.
  • Verifies and posts details of daily business transactions for each location daily, including daily sales and bank deposits, to appropriate accounts, ledgers, or computer spreadsheets and databases, according to company procedures.
  • Processes credit card payments from 3rd party clearing houses. 
  • Processes Customer Online payments. 
  • Review, balance, and interpret computer reports, and make corrections. 
  • Reconciles grain checks received to customer settlements and investigate variances. 
  • Prepares bank reconciliations.
  • Accept additional responsibilities as directed by the CFO.

Education and/or Experience A High School diploma and three to five years of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Synergy Feeds Open Positions 

 


Feed Millman

Work Location: South Whitley, IN


Job Type: Full-Time; 2 nd Shift

Job Summary: Aid in feed manufacturing practice by weighing small or bagged
ingredients such as animal health products etc. Able to operate all functions of the
milling process including mixer operations, maintenance and capable of delivering feed
in the bulk delivery truck.
